THE FIRST LADY OF MALAYSIA PASSED ON..
I was awaken this morning at around 10am by an sms. it was from hotlink but there’s another sms an hour before. Of Nolee informing me Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, the wife of Malaysia Prime Minister, Pak Lah has passed away at 7.40am (later on TV it was said at 7.55am) in Putrajaya. I only slept for 4 hours but suddenly i was wide awake and jumped from my bed. I switched on the TV and saw that RTM and TV3 were airing people reciting Quranic verses but NTV7 did not. So i thought it wasn’t out yet.
I called mom (using the house line) while forwarding the sms to my friend. Mom told me it was all over the news already. Ler.. aku yang terlambat rupanya. Shortly after it was "Berita Terkini" on TV3 and the presenter wore black suit with a cream coloured selendang in a show of respect.
And just now it was announced in TV3 that Allahyarhamah Datin Seri Endon will be buried at Precinct 20 Putrajaya after Asar prayer.
My deepest condolence goes to Pak Lah and family. When his mother died of natural causes in February 2004, Pak Lah telephoned Datin Seri in the United States, where she was undergoing treatment. She later told reporters that he said: "I’ve lost my mother and I don’t want to lose you too."
Allahyarhamah discovered she had breast cancer in 2002 following a checkup after her twin sister, Noraini, was earlier diagnosed with the disease. Noraini died in January 2004.
I hope the Premier of Malaysia who has just lost his "No.1 supporter" will be strong in facing this test from Allah. Segala yang berlaku pasti ada hikmah di sebaliknya. Al-Fatihah…..
